A week ago, I was panting in the broiling heat of late summer. Now the temperature has dropped, and I’m chillin’. I know what that means. Cozy season is coming!
The first thing I need to do is prepare my warm indoor blanket forts. I’ve been trying them out. Want to see?
The bed has a nice thick blanket cover and a good patch of sunlight. Not bad for stretching out on a cool, sunny day. Great window view of the yard.
The giant human-dog bed might be a little more to my liking. It’s got high sides and a blanket I can nestle in. There’s always the big blanket I can drag off the bed if need be. Shhh, don’t tell Miss Janet.
Yep, it’s confirmed. The giant human-dog bed has lots of snuggly possibilities as a cozy weather hideout. It’s comfy too.
Then there’s the good ole couch. I’ve got two couch blankets year-round. Lots of good blanket fort material.
I also have a winter blanket rolled up on the back of the couch. I can grab that whenever I feel an extra chill. And I bet if I try to look a little cool, Miss Janet will bring out that extra big blanket she keeps in the dresser. Four couch blankets would be amazing.
There is the small problem of Miss Janet thinking one of the blankets is hers. I’ll have to shiver a little to convince her I need the blankets more than she does.
The couch blankets are great for burrowing and making a blanket fort! I can layer them in any shape I want. What a cozy nest.
I like to keep my options open. But I think the couch blanket fort is a winner and will be my prime real estate for cozy season.
Okay, I’m all set for cozy season. And I’ve gone ahead and claimed all the blankets. It’s the most logical use of our resources.
I’m sure Miss Janet can figure out her own cozy season plan. Anyway, humans wear clothes, sweaters, and socks. Those are built-in blankets they wear all the time. Surely they don’t really need extra fort-blankets too?
