A blog post by Josiah, the all-grown-up Yorkie
Yesterday was my Gotcha Day! One year ago, I was a tiny 10-week-old pup who came to live here on the farm. I’ve grown up so much since then.
To celebrate, Miss Janet gave me extra cuddles and some special Gotcha Day treats. Then she showed me some of my puppy photos, so I could see how grown up I am now.

When I first arrived at Miss Janet’s home, she had to hand-feed me. I was so overwhelmed, I just couldn’t figure out how to eat by myself.
Now you should see me gobble down my yummy food every day.

When I saw the big meadow for the first time, I was afraid to go too far.
Now I insist on a daily walk way down the hill, so I can find out which creatures have been visiting.

When I was introduced to my neighbor, Beauregard, I wasn’t sure what to think of this gentle giant.
The other day, I chased Beauregard around his yard. I almost caught him!

In my first days at the farm, Miss Janet had to block me in so I wouldn’t roll off the couch.
Now I run up and down my couch steps whenever I want a cozy blanket nap.

A year ago on my Gotcha Day, everything seemed so big and so strange. Lots of huge creatures, weird noises, too many farm smells to identify.
Now, a year later, I’m in charge of the farm: head of security, perimeter patrol, chief rodent control officer, and all around farm manager.
I’ve come such a long way since my Gotcha Day. I’m a really blessed dog to have such a great farm life. I love every minute!
Thank you for celebrating my Gotcha Day with me.
Kisses and cuddles,
Josiah
