A blog post by Josiah, the celebrating Yorkie
Miss Janet told me August 1 is National Yorkie Day. I was excited to learn humans have created a special day to honor us Yorkies. Although the wisest humans would realize every day is National Yorkie Day because we are quite amazing and worth celebrating.

Think about all the things we Yorkies offer every single day:
- Rodent-squirrel patrol.
- Intruder alerts.
- Entertainment.
- Cuddles.
- Problem-solving.
- Treat and snack evaluation.
- Companionship.
It’s only natural to recognize our special contributions to our homes.

Here’s how I plan to celebrate National Yorkie Day:
- Lots of playtime and cuddles.
- Full-scale rodent-squirrel patrol.
- Some special zoomies.
- Great appreciation of the special treats I am sure to receive.

I may even celebrate by doing some toy engineering or building a blanket fort if I have enough energy left over. Yes, indoor blanket forts can be comfy even in summer, with the nice cool breeze from the AC and indoor fans.

And of course I’ll celebrate the day with several perfect naps.
It’s great to be a Yorkie. I’m so happy to know humans agree we Yorkies are special, worthy of our own celebration day!
Paw pats and kisses,
Josiah
