A blog post by Josiah, the celebrating Yorkie puppy
We’ve got a birthday celebration coming up. My human, Miss Janet, has a birthday soon. She won’t tell me how many months old she is. I’m almost 11 months, so she’s got to be at least 12 months. I can’t wait to celebrate with her. I’ve been thinking of all the ways I want to celebrate:
First, I will actually let her sleep late. I will be very well behaved and very quiet, even though I really want to get outside and see what all the birds and rodent-squirrels are doing. I’ll just listen to them through the window and wait.

Then we should have a nice breakfast. Miss Janet can share two blueberries with me like she always does. Maybe three, because it’s a special day. Maybe even one of my extra special breakfast treats.
Then we can go on an adventure walk, where we get to visit all my favorite trees to look for birds and rodent-squirrels. I will point them all out to Miss Janet. I think she would like that. I’m a great trail guide.

Next we can have a big old play time indoors. I’ll let Miss Janet play with all my toys. She can toss my rope balls, and I’ll chase them. It’ll be so much fun.
I think after that, Miss Janet would like me to sit next to her on the couch so she can cuddle me. That’s probably the best birthday gift I can give her, a real Yorkie cuddle. I’ll even try not to chew her fingers too much.

Then it’ll be treat time. Miss Janet will have fun picking out special treats for me. I will do my sit and settle commands perfectly. She will be so proud of me.
After that, it’ll be time for a big birthday nap. Maybe she will let me nap in the human bed. After all, it’s a special day. So it makes sense to have a special nap time.

I can’t wait to show Miss Janet all the special plans I have for her birthday. I think she will have so much fun with her Yorkie-style celebration.
Birthdays are the best!
I hope you will plan a special fun day for yourself too. I just gave you some really great ideas for how to have a really fun day, Yorkie style. You don’t need a birthday to celebrate. Just celebrate being you!
Kisses and squiggles,
Josiah
