I enjoyed my first bath time at home. I had no idea what it would be like, but it was really nice. I would do it again.
My first actual bath was over a month ago, but it wasn’t at home. It was at the groomer. I don’t remember much about it because so many things happened. I couldn’t take it all in.
But my first home bath was a lot easier. It actually wasn’t a bath. It was a shower. Like being outside in the rain, but better. The water temperature was perfect, very relaxing and gentle.
My doggy shampoo/conditioner came from my vet, and it smelled like a beautiful garden. I loved getting a back massage and feeling the warm water on my skin. Relaxing and energizing at the same time. I just held still, closed my eyes, and felt all the dirt from the yard and the cares of the world roll off me. It was my very own puppy spa.
When the shower-bath was over, Miss Janet wrapped me in big towels to soak up the water. Then she let me dry my hair by rolling on towels. I felt so big and fluffy, like the sheep that live here on the farm. And I felt sparkly clean.
Miss Janet said I’ll get a bath once a month, either at home or at the groomer. That will keep me clean without drying out my skin. Too much bathing would be too harsh for my sensitive Yorkie skin.
Bath time is important for getting rid of dirt and things that make me sneeze. Miss Janet can check my skin for any problems. And bathing softens my hair, so it doesn’t get tangled.
Plus, I really enjoyed my shower-bath! I loved being pampered. It’s great to smell fresh and clean. My soft hair feels lighter. Being a puppy is hard work, and it’s nice to have a little spa time.
My first home bath was a big success. I had fun. I behaved like a grownup dog. And I can’t wait for my next pampered spa time.
